David Korn
David Korn, a principal in the Energy Services Group, leads the clean energy and applied technology team from our headquarters in Watertown, Massachusetts. He is a veteran of more than 20 years in energy and environmental consulting and engineering. His wide-ranging experience in energy conservation includes conducting detailed technical evaluations of products such as industrial transformers, measuring energy use and efficiency in buildings and products, and managing a multi-million-dollar regional effort to promote energy efficiency and ENERGY STAR® products.
Mr. Korn’s energy and energy-conservation work has long yielded impressive results. The ENERGY STAR Monitor Power Management Program that he designed and oversaw for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for example, helped convince hundreds of public and private organizations to set over 12 million computer monitors to sleep mode after a period of inactivity. The effort annually saves several billion kilowatt hours of electricity, worth an estimated $200 million.
David Korn has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, with a concentration in energy systems, from Cornell University, where he also pursued graduate studies in environmental engineering and aquatic science. He joined Cadmus in 1993 after working as a consultant with the firm of Jason Cortell and Associates and with the energy service company NEES. In 2004, Mr. Korn was designated a certified energy manager by the Association of Energy Engineers.
