DSM Portfolio Pro
In the world of energy efficiency, success can be difficult to define. Simply meeting conservation goals is not enough. The cost of energy efficiency and demand response resources must be justified by their economic worth to utilities, participants, ratepayers and society as a whole. At The Cadmus Group, we understand the challenge this poses to utilities and regulators.
Our Solution . . .
At The Cadmus Group, we have designed a tool to help our clients successfully determine cost-effective approaches to achieving energy efficiency goals. DSM Portfolio Pro is a cost effectiveness model that allows utilities to ascertain program cost effectiveness from multiple perspectives. It provides a link between the results of conservation and demand response potential assessment and program development and allows users to create programs from individual measures and combine them into “portfolios.” A database of common assumptions such as financial inputs, hourly load shapes and avoided costs also allows users to maintain a consistent approach to resource valuation and risk assessment across all DSM programs.

A Closer Look . . .
DSM Portfolio Pro has been designed to demonstrate and make use of the interconnectedness of various resource acquisition activities. Simplified workflow and automated analyses relieve our clients of time-consuming calculations, allowing for efficient and effective optimization of their DSM resource portfolios.
By allowing utilities to assess DSM resources at all levels of granularity, from the smallest detail to the big picture, this tool facilitates the design and implementation of truly successful conservation programs.
