Energy Use Measurement, Tracking and Management

When it comes to building performance, we assist our clients on technical issues as well as programmatic issues. With strong technical roots in energy efficiency, we note that “ee” (energy efficiency) is the core of “green.” Energy efficiency should be the first step toward green because it provides verifiable savings. For over ten years, we have provided benchmarking support to thousands of users on behalf of EPA’s ENERGY STAR for Commercial and Industrial buildings in the public sector. We are national experts on the ENERGY STAR program, with specialized capabilities in using its energy performance rating tool, Portfolio Manager, whose use is required for LEED-EB: O&M certification. Leveraging this extensive knowledge, we help public and private organizations measure, track, improve and manage their energy use. Over time, we help them demonstrate the success of their energy and green building measures, and obtain public recognition when appropriate.

Our Green Building team is attuned to the demands surrounding energy performance, and can customize a program to meet the specific needs of an organization. After measuring and tracking the energy performance of a single facility or the entire portfolio, we work with clients to create or improve their existing management program. We offer the counsel and technical expertise to identify low-cost measures, while also providing financial pre-feasibility studies to consider investments in energy systems upgrades. Cadmus assists clients in improving their buildings’ ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager scores sufficient to earn the ENERGY STAR and a multitude of points in the LEED Green Building Rating System™.
