Cadmus Announces Recipients of Q1 Employee-Directed Charitable Giving

WALTHAM, Mass., August 4, 2016—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today the recipients of the company’s employee-directed charitable giving for the first financial quarter of fiscal year 2017. Cadmus’ popular employee-directed charitable giving program gives employees the opportunity to be directly involved in decisions about how and where the firm provides charitable support.

This quarter’s recipients are:

  • Central American Resource Center (CARECEN): CARECEN provides a vast variety of resources to Latino communities in the Washington, D.C., Metro area, including pro bono legal and financial advice. This donation was requested by research analyst Bridgett McCoy, who volunteers with CARECEN.
  • Charleston Waterkeeper: Charleston Waterkeeper uses donors’ support to protect local waterways in Charleston, South Carolina, one of the most at-risk communities for sea level rise in the United States. Associate Nick Matthews submitted this request and has pledged to match Cadmus’ donation.
  • City Blossoms: After D.C.-area Cadmus staff volunteered with City Blossoms during Earth Week, senior analyst Oana Leahu-Aluas requested this donation. City Blossoms provides bilingual, free, and affordable programming to local youth, largely in neighborhoods where they may not otherwise have access to green space.
  • Environmental League of Massachusetts: Associate Danielle Burns’ submission will support a nonprofit educational and advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening the voice and effectiveness of the environmental community in Massachusetts. Danielle has a long history of supporting this organization, which Cadmus is proud to share.
  • Greenway Foundation: The Greenway Foundation utilizes the South Platte River as an outdoor and historical resource, providing programs and employment opportunities for youth as well as various cultural events. Associate Randy Mead is an active volunteer.
  • Hamazkayin USA Eastern Region: Silva Parseghian, payroll manager, volunteers with Hamazkayin, an Armenian cultural and educational organization dedicated to the preservation, development, and promotion of Armenian culture among youth.
  • Hearts Full of Happy: Cadmus’ donation to this organization, requested by contract manager Hannah Pagan, will pay for the required tuition, uniform, books, and pens for five students in an elementary school in Ethiopia.
  • Laurelhurst Elementary School: Associate Jake Wise requested a donation to support Laurelhurst PTA in its endeavor to transform a local playground.
  • Marsing Bike Project: Administrative assistant Jolyn Green regularly volunteers with the Marsing Bike Project, which helps children in the Marsing, Idaho community learn to be safe and sustainable with bicycle education and supplies.
  • Routt County 4-H: Principal Jane Colby requested a contribution to this local 4-H chapter’s scholarship fund. Jane and her family are active 4-H members and volunteers.
  • Seeds of Solidarity: Seeds of Solidarity works with challenged teenagers interested in growing and cooking food; seeking a safe, creative and positive group; and learning renewable energy skills. Associate Josh Habib is a long-time volunteer and supporter.

Applications were strengthened by applicants’ active involvement with the programs and organizations in question, as well as indicated allocation for specific projects, connections to Cadmus’ mission, and, in some cases, a history of support from Cadmus. Every Cadmus employee is welcome to submit a proposal requesting a charitable contribution to a cause or organization.
