Cadmus’ Emily Wasley Appointed to USGBC LEED Resilience Working Group
WALTHAM, Mass., September 6, 2016—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that Emily Wasley, director of Cadmus’ Climate Security, Adaptation, and Resilience (CSAR) initiative, has been appointed to the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC’s) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) Resilience Working Group. The Resilience Working Group assembles leaders in sustainability, architecture, emergency management, and engineering to work together to advance resilience in the LEED Rating System and other USGBC initiatives.
“It’s imperative that the design and engineering of our nation’s infrastructure account for the vulnerabilities that climate change and extreme weather events pose now and in the future,” said Wasley. “USGBC’s new LEED pilot credits on resilient design take us to that next level for integrating climate change into new and existing buildings. I’m thrilled to be a part of this process and look forward to collaborating with USGBC and the other working group members.”
LEED is a program implemented by USGBC for the rating and certification of high performance green buildings. USGBC and its community act to transform the building landscape with practices that provide economic and environmental opportunity. In November 2015, the program adopted three new credits for LEED certification that are based on considerations of resilient design.
