Cadmus’ Machado, Shaw Achieve Professional Engineer Certifications

WALTHAM, Mass., June 22, 2015—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) is proud to announce that two Cadmus employees were certified as Professional Engineers (PEs) in spring 2015. Shawn Shaw, a principal, obtained his certification in electrical engineering; Andrew Machado, an associate, was certified as a mechanical engineer. Both engineers are based primarily in the firm’s Waltham, Mass., headquarters.

“Shawn and Andy’s PE certifications are perfect examples of the qualifications and commitment to excellence demonstrated by our staff, and Cadmus is proud to support this step in their continuing professional development,” said Dave Korn, vice president in charge of Cadmus’ measurement and engineering group. “These certifications, and those of Cadmus’ other PEs, allow us to continually build on the exceptional services we provide our clients.”

The PE certification is the most advanced professional registration in the engineering field.

Shaw, leader of the firm’s renewable energy practice, specializes in design and installations standards for solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, and hybrid power systems. Since joining Cadmus in 2004, he has provided a variety of clients with technical guidance, training, and due diligence services to ensure the safe and effective operation of clean energy systems.

Machado, who has been a practicing engineer since 2002, works with utilities, businesses, and municipalities to plan, measure and assess their energy efficiency portfolios. At Cadmus, he leads energy engineering and cross-functional teams focused on energy efficiency, measurement and verification, and energy codes.

Cadmus’ staff includes PEs certified in electrical, environmental, and mechanical engineering. These PEs, and other key experts, provide Cadmus’ clients with the technical insight to overcome complex challenges, from analyzing renewable energy and energy storage projects and evaluating innovative energy conservation measures to evaluating drinking water and wastewater treatment technologies.

Cadmus supports private and public sector clients in all markets, including federal government agencies, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and energy utilities.
