Cadmus Recognized for Outstanding Employee Transportation Program

Washington, DC, June 25, 2014—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) announced today that it had been honored at the 17th Annual Employer Recognition Awards, hosted by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments’ Commuter Connections program. Cadmus President and CEO Ian Kline accepted the award for best employee transportation incentives at a ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C, on June 24, 2014.

“Ensuring that the way our employees travel to work has a positive impact on the environment and their quality of life is a huge priority for our firm,” said Kline. “The benefits we provide our staff in the D.C. metropolitan area and all the cities where our offices are located help us attract and keep happy employees who are deeply engaged in our work, making choices they feel great about, and coming into work ready to support our clients every day.”

Cadmus’ sustainable transportation incentives include reimbursement for use of public transportation up to $160 per month for each employee and $100 in annual reimbursement toward the purchase or upkeep of a bicycle. These benefits are available to all Cadmus employees at the firm’s offices across the United States. By taking advantage of the program, participating employees in the firm’s Arlington, Va., and Bethesda, Md., offices have reduced more than 377,000 vehicle miles traveled and saved more than 19,000 gallons of gasoline annually.

For 40 years, the Commuter Connections program has worked closely with Washington-area businesses to educate and promote alternatives to drive-alone commuting. Applications are accepted each year for the Employer Recognition Awards from companies in the Washington metropolitan region that offer, promote, or support transit benefits, ridesharing, bicycling, walking, and telework. Additional winners of the 2014 awards are the Food and Drug Administration in White Oak, Md., for marketing, and the USDA Forest Service in Washington, D.C, for telework.
