Cadmus Fundraiser Nets $10,000+ for Environmental Education Foundation
(May 17, 2006) -- An April fundraising event co-sponsored by Cadmus raised over $10,000 for the Newton Marasco Foundation (NMF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring responsible environmental stewardship through environmental education and outreach.About 130 individuals attended the performance of “A Sense of Wonder: A Play Based on the Life and Works of Rachel Carson” and the reception and silent auction that followed.
The event was held at the Lyceum in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Tickets were $40 per person.
NMF is involved in a number of education programs in the Greater Washington Metro Area, including scholarships and college internships, an Earth Day Photo Contest (throughout Maryland), and the Green Earth Book Award, which acknowledges authors who write about the environment for school-age children.
