Utility Industry Experts Discuss Energy 2.0 in First Cadmus Leaders Forum

Leaders_Forum_imprintWaltham, Mass., February 1, 2015—The Cadmus Group, Inc. (Cadmus) led the inaugural session of its Cadmus Leaders Forum on December 10, 2014. Select Cadmus clients representing electric and gas utilities from across the United States were invited to the online event to share insights on issues currently affecting the utility industry. Among the primary topics under discussion were the challenges and opportunities afforded by the transition to a more data-intensive, customized client experience—commonly referred to as Energy 2.0.

“The Cadmus Leaders Forum provides an unrivalled opportunity for the lively conversation and insight that only our clients can provide,” said Lois Gordon, Cadmus vice president in charge of the firm’s utility solutions practice. “As we employ innovative strategies to support our clients in meeting the challenges and seizing the opportunities ahead of us in this crucial period for the utility industry, engaging our regulators through ongoing stakeholder education remains critically important.”

Future Leaders Forum sessions will continue to address the up-to-the-minute trends that are affecting utilities and regulators.

Headline speakers Rebecca Craft, director of energy efficiency and demand management with Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (ConEdison), and Dan Laurent, director of energy efficiency and renewables with Ameren Missouri, led panels sharing how their companies have balanced efficiency regulations with delivering the high-quality service their customers need and expect. These informative panels were followed by interactive discussions among attendees moderated by Cadmus’ regulatory policy experts.

While growing demand and changing regulatory oversight continue to place demands on energy utilities, evolving technologies and ever-more-efficient practices provide exciting opportunities to tackle those challenges. Recent Cadmus thought leadership has addressed the major issues facing utilities at this transitional period, including the impact of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 111(d) regulation (also known as the Clean Power Plan) and ongoing regulatory policy debates.
