M. Sami Khawaja, Ph.D.
Before he became a vice president and group manager at Cadmus, M. Sami Khawaja, Ph.D. headed his own advanced analytics consulting firm specializing in measuring and predicting consumer behavior and its impact on energy, financial, and natural resources. That firm is now Cadmus’s Portland, Oregon-based Energy Services Group, which Dr. Khawaja leads. Dr. Khawaja’s expertise runs the gamut from program theory and planning to implementation and evaluation. He has been particularly active in the development of real-time tracking systems that enable continual program evaluation and mid-course corrections. He has consulted with utilities throughout the United States and Canada, as well as with clients in Thailand, Jamaica, and Jordan. Dr. Khawaja is widely published in professional journals and has presented more than 20 papers at various conferences.
M. Sami Khawaja is a graduate of Portland State University, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics and a doctorate in systems science/economics. He is now an adjunct professor of economics at the university, where he teaches quantitative economics and statistics. Dr. Khawaja also is a founder of the university’s graduate certificate program in applied energy economics and policy.
