Weston Fisher

Principal Weston Fisher co-directs the Capacity for Impact Assessment and Management (CIAM) practice in our Emerging Markets Group. CIAM supports the capacity-building efforts of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in environmentally sound design and management and in the application of USAID environmental procedures by development partners and USAID staff.

A veteran of more than 30 years in natural resource policy, planning, and management, Mr. Fisher is an expert in environmentally sound design, environmental impact assessment, and environmental management programs. He has served as a trainer and facilitator for more than 20 environmental assessment and sound design management training courses in 16 countries in Africa, Europe, Eurasia, Asia, and the Near East. Since 1995 Mr. Fisher has provided environmental policy support to USAID’s Bureau for Africa Environmental Management Capacity Building Program.

Mr. Fisher came to Cadmus in 2005 from the Tellus Institute, where he was a senior research director. He also was the USAID’s regional energy advisor for East and Southern Africa and the Africa Bureau’s energy advisor. He directed the Missouri Energy Agency and worked for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Early in his career, Mr. Fisher was a Peace Corps biology and science teacher in Uganda.

Weston Fisher holds bachelor’s degrees in biology and geology and a master’s in geology, all from Stanford University.
